Biscuits & Vinyl

Biscuits & Vinyl opened up for business in Talent in the fall of 2017. From our first day of operating, the community of Talent has welcomed us with open arms. Over the next three years we continued to grow and became a fixture of the local business community, until September 8, 2020, when the Almeda Fire swept through the town.

The shop was completely devastated that day and all inventory was lost. The day of the fire, the shop was closed, so in a sense was lucky to not have to evacuate. I was actually heading to the shop to take care of some things when the black smoke and on-coming traffic made me rethink and turn back around to return to my home in Medford. My gut feeling was that the shop was not going to survive the night and the following morning my thoughts were confirmed when we received the news that the shop had been burned down.

It seemed almost instantaneous that the support from the Talent and surrounding communities came pouring in. Offers of record donations to help rebuild our lost inventory as well as messages letting us know how they appreciated the store and would love for us to rebuild in Talent (even if they had never visited before).

It didn’t take long to commit to rebuilding and knew that we wanted to remain in Talent. After several months, our current spot in Wagner Plaza became available. We ended meeting Tammy Sona through social media and were able to team up with Bear Creek Malt Supply and Jack Latvala of Star Properties to reach a sub-lease agreement. Approximately six months after the fire were able to reopen for business in February of 2021. We love being a part of the Talent business community and look forward to being a part of the rebuilding effort and hopefully find our forever home in the rebuilt city center.
